Planning Grid Ribbon

This section describes each of the buttons on the Planning Grid Ribbon.

Planning

View

Add a new row in the Planning Grid. Double-click the new row's story slug to edit the story.

Shortcut key: Ctrl+i.

Refresh the view of the Planning Grid.

This is useful if other users have made changes to the Planning Grid since you opened it. If your network is configured correctly, you will not need to use this option.

Compresses each Event into it's own singular line.

The Find button opens a search field at the top of a Planning Grid.

When a user searches a rundown, found search items appear in red text.

Font

Select the typeface and font size.

Properties

Modify Planning Grid Properties.

Layout

Layout

Select the default screen layout.

After clicking the Make this my layout button, this icon will be highlighted to indicate that layout reflects your selections.

Display the default layout for your group.

Select the default system layout.

Display the template layout for your group.

Click on this button to select one of the stored layouts. A menu will appear showing you which ones have been saved.

Click on this button to delete one of the stored layouts, if you have appropriate permissions. A menu will appear showing you which ones are stored in the system.

Columns

Use the drop-down menu to select which columns you want to add to or remove from the layout.

To sort columns, click on the Sort button.

When the Sort feature is on the Sort button has a gold background, and the user can click in the header of any alphanumeric column to sort the grid by that column.

Only one column can be sorted at a time.

Layout Storage

Save the current window arrangement as your default layout when you open a Planning Grid.

Save the Planning Grid view as a stored layout if you have the appropriate permissions.

Stored layouts reflect the columns and column widths that have been selected.

You will be prompted for a name.

If you have the required permissions, this saves the current layout as the default for your group.

Save a custom layout for ENPS Mobile.

After you configure your layout as you would like to see it in ENPS Mobile, select this button to save the layout for yourself or as the default layout for your home group, if you have appropriate permissions. After you close and re-open the Planning Grid, your newly-saved layout will be visible on the Ribbon's Stored Layout and Delete Layout menus.

ENPS Mobile will select which layout to use to display Planning Grids based on the following priority list:

  • User's Personal Layout, if it exists

  • Group Layout, if it exists for the user's Home group and there is no Personal Layout

  • System Default Layout, if neither of the above exists

If you have appropriate permissions, you can save a Planning Grid as a template.

If you opt to save the Planning Grid as a template, the events or rows that you have displayed in the Planning Grid will also become part of the template.

To save the Planning Grid as a template, click the Save as Template button. When users create a new Planning Grid they will now see the template Planning Grid listed as an option in the Planning Grid Properties window.

Production

Device Control

Create a connection between the Planning Grid and MOS devices at your site.

This icon will stay highlighted while the connection is active and the Planning Grid's icon will change on its tab and in the folder.

Select a device to receive MOS Story Send messages.

Your System Administrator can help you with this setting.

You can optionally select a time to start sending MOS Story Send messages to the device by entering a time in the box. MOS Control Active must be selected for the ENPS Client to send messages to a MOS device.

Archive

Your Planning Grid may be configured to automatically archive. If so, you do not need to archive manually using these buttons. Check with your System Administrator to find out how many days after a Planning Grid is used that the Planning Grid is archived.

This tab does not appear for Personal Planning Grids.

Archive Planning Grid

Remove the Planning Grid from the current folder and move it to your site's archives. Once this step has been completed the Planning Grid can still be located through the Search feature.

Context Menu

In addition to the Ribbon, you can click the three horizontal bars to open the Context Menu. The Context Menu provides shortcuts on the Ribbon.

The following shortcuts are available through the Context Menu.

Print Planning Grid

Opens the Print Menu.

Insert Row
