New Device Checks

Perform these checks as you add new device integration with ENPS.

Device Vendor

Confirm with the device vendor that you are correctly configured for automatic failover.

If your integrated devices do not support automatic failover, contact the vendor(s) for your integrated devices to request documented steps describing how to point your devices to the Buddy server in the event of a server failover.

Server Failover Test

You should also test server failover:

  1. Open News Object Manager (NOM).

  2. Select Window > NOM Configuration/Status.

  3. Tick the Block Primary Access (while waiting for buddy to sync) checkbox to force ENPS clients to connect to the Buddy server.

  4. Check if the device recognizes that ENPS clients are using the Buddy NOM.

    If the device does not recognize that clients are using the Buddy NOM then ticking Block Primary Access... is not sufficient. Instead, you must close Watch and then the NOM.

You must Contact Us when you're ready to bring the NOM back online on the Primary Server. Contacting us will help ensure ENPS data integrity.
