News Object Manager (NOM)

The News Object Manager (NOM) is the key ENPS server-side application. It handles file-locking and transaction management - including version management and writing transactions to the Solr index - and communicates to desktop and mobile clients via webservices.

The NOM is also the ENPS 'MOS gateway' and is responsible for communication with integrated third-party systems.

NOMs are normally configured as redundant pairs, with transactions run on the Primary NOM replicated to the Buddy.
